Status for 7/30
No problems reported.
Hmm, these reports seem to be a little repetitive. Starting next month we will begin adding tips and tricks into the daily status to liven things up a bit.
Bulk DNS customers (or potential customers) interested in using the Nettica Bulk DNS Web Service API now have a reference platform to help in implementing their own solutions. We've setup the reference website at: http://bulk.nettica.com/.
This site is live against a debug account and exercises the vast majority of the API including creating and deleting zones, as well as creating and editing resource records.
The site is a small, two page website written in C# and the .Net Framework. Source code and the API reference is available by contacting support after your bulk DNS purchase.
We made several very minor changes to correct some language that was no longer applicable to the site. No problems expected or reported from these changes.
Sadly, we had a minor problem with the latest update that caused an error for several customers trying to manage their DNS. The problem has been corrected. We regret the inconvenience.
We updated the database and site in preparation for a new feature coming online soon. In addition we made several small usability fixes to the DNS management page. If you run into any problems with the site please contact support immediately. And as usual, if you have any suggestions or feedback please let us know--we listen.
We experienced a minor email server problem today causing us to not send some registration and support emails. We have corrected the problem and are investigating the root cause. Sorry for any duplicate emails we may have sent recovering from the problem. If you did not receive an email receipt for your purchase please let us know and we will email you a duplicate statement.
DNS5, our London DNS server, is now online. All primary DNS domains have had their NS records updated to include the new server, and it's responding to queries. If you are a European customer, or do business with Europe, you'll definitely want to add this server to your DNS registration.
Nameserver: DNS5.NETTICA.COM
IP Address: 212.100.247.15
Today we made quite a few fixes to our site management pages including the dns template and primary dns management pages. If you have been experiencing problems with these pages, they have been corrected. Thank you for your patience!
The Nettica staff will be taking some much needed time off after our big push the last few months. We will still respond to support issues within 24 hours, although it may not be as quick as our usual instantaneous response times.
Nettica DNS Manager:
Fixed a minor problem with updates using the Nettica DNS Manager 1.0 clients. This was a server-side change, not a client change. No one got the prize for reporting it because it was so obscure no one found it.
The Fourth of July and Thanksgiving are two truly unique American holidays. The first is a celebration of our declaration our independence, the second to give thanks for the many blessings.
Our support staff will be enjoying the festivities this weekend, but we're still available to solve any problems you may encounter.
We have been making minor fixes to the website since our recent update. Bug turnaround time has been 5-45 minutes. We will probably be making a few more tweaks as we gather customer feedback. If you have any comments or problems, please contact Support.
Communication inspires confidence. We've been looking for an appropriate forum to post our day-to-day updates to the site, keeping you informed of new features, fixes, and maintenance windows.
