Nettica iOS apps updated

We've updated all of our iOS apps, updating them to support the iPhone 5 screen size and the incorporating feedback from the reviews.  DNS Lookup Plus now supports SRV records when you query for ALL.  In addition, to email results simply copy and paste the results into an email (we had copy and paste working in our apps before Apple fully supported it).  We've also added support for more TLDs in WHOIS.  However, some registries, such as .CM, do not have a public WHOIS server.  Thanks to everyone who has contributed feedback to our apps!

DNS2 maintenance 2/9/2012

Last week we had an issue with DNS2 which caused some problems for customers using only our DNS1 and DNS2 servers.  We diagnosed the problem to be an issue with DNS1, and performed maintenance over the weekend to resolve the issue.  We will be doing additional maintance to DNS2 tomorrow evening to close out the issue.  This maintenance will include a datacenter move and an expected downtime of approximately 4 hours.  We recommend adding DNS3, DNS4, and DNS5.NETTICA.COM to your name server list at your domain registrar (or the appropriate rebranding) if you have any concerns relating to this maintenance window.  Please contact support with any questions.

Additional FailSafe monitoring locations

We have added four new failsafe monitoring locations.

Please update your firewall/subnet information as appropriate.

UPDATE: There was a problem with this rollout which caused ICMP Ping requests from the new locations to fail, which created some false positives for about 30 minutes.  The problem was quickly diagnosed and corrected.    Please contact support with any questions.

DDOS attack - URL Forwarding Service

URL Forwarding services have been brought back online.  Thank you for your patience.

We are currently experiencing a DDOS attack against our URL forwarding service.  We hope to have the service up again shortly.  Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Please note that URL forwarding is not a function of DNS and your web server can handle URL forwarding itself, if there is critical need.

DNS1 maintenance tonight (9/22/2010)

Maintenance completed without incident.

We are currently performing maintenance on DNS1 tonight as a result of a distributed denial of service attack against our services earlier today.  There will be no DNS resolution problems as a result of this maintenance, although you should avoid making any changes to your DNS during this two hour maintenance window.  Thanks for your understanding.
